Established in 2019, Quirky Events, a small events company based in the North of Leicestershire. Our company provides a range of local produce to you through events or private functions.
We have teamed up with the Ferneley’s ice cream within Melton Mowbray, who produce their own ice cream using the milk from their own herd of mainly Freshian Cows. This traditionally made ice cream is not only locally produced but is available in some favourite flavours such as Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Blue Moo! The ice cream is not only of high-quality but tastes amazing as well!
Our ice cream is served in our 1940’s style ice cream bike which offers a ‘quirky’ addition to any event.
We specialise in wide array of events such as private parties, weddings, corporate functions, and large events. We are able to bespoke each of our bookings and can also offer the addition of popcorn, candyfloss and other delicious treats. We will always try and accommodate all requests.
During the Christmas season, we can provide hot mulled wine and cider along with warmed mince pies.
Our ice cream can be served in waffle cones or small recyclable pots.
Alongside our event work, we also offer our range of bouncy castles for hire. Our bouncy castle are available in different sizes 12 x 12 feet and 18 x 16 feet. Our small castle is perfect for children’s parties and our larger castle is more suited for a bigger space and bigger people. Quirky events provide a hassle-free service, offering peace of mind and complete professionalism. We are a fully registered food business with insurance and all of our staff are trained within Food Hygiene to Level 2.
We currently have a food hygiene rating of ‘5’ and have first hand food hygiene and health & safety expertise’s. Compliance with all current food safety and health & safety legislation is of a paramount importance to us as a business.
Quirky Events is very keen to use sustainable packaging wherever possible. All our packaging is either compostable or is paper recyclable.
What Is Compostable and Paper Recyclable Packaging?
Paper Recyclable: Paper Recyclable means the product can be recycled through existing recycling streams. Recycling is the process of taking a waste item and re-manufacturing it into a useable product. This reduces the dependency on new raw materials.
Compostable: This is the process of bio-degrading organic / plant-based material into compost for the use of fertilising the soil.

In 2005 “Thirsty Farmer Cider” was set up in Nottinghamshire to sell in their own Shop and at Country Fetes and Shows.
Since then, “Thirsty Farmer Cider” has continued to grow in popularity. So much so that it won CAMRA’s Best Cider in the East Midlands in their East Midlands & Yorkshire Cider Competition 2010, and more recently was awarded 2 Gold Stars by the Guild of Fine Food in the 2011, 2012, 2018 and 2020 Great Taste Awards.
Today Thirsty Farmer Cider is considered the original Nottinghamshire Cider and continues to be enjoyed by an ever-growing number of people, both at home and in local public houses throughout the counties of Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire.
